Mini’app’les Meeting, Tuesday October 25 at 7:00 p.m. – New Location!

The next Mini’app’les meeting is Tuesday, October 25th, the fourth Tuesday of the month, at a new location: Cimbura.com, Inc. (5155 East River Road Suite 405, Minneapolis, MN 55421). At 7:00 p.m.

We are trying out a new location at Cimbura.com.  Cimbura.com delivers custom technology solutions that give businesses a competitive advantage by developing applications using WordPress / the web / FileMaker Pro / and Swift Xcode.  Find out more info here: https://cimbura.com/
Apple Users MN is joining Mini’app’les and we are combining our forces as one group going forward.  Sean Johnson founded Apple Users MN in 2012 as a group for people who use Apple products or are looking to make the switch. The goal is sharing of information and ideas.  We welcome Sean and his group and think they will fit right in with us in our continuing effort to share knowledge and excitement about Apple.
This month’s meeting, Sean has planned to discuss all the latest hardware releases from Apple and discuss how everyone is liking iOS 10, macOS Sierra, and watchOS 3.

The next Mini’app’les meeting is Tuesday, August 16th, the third Tuesday of the month, at the Hackfactory (3119 E. 26th Street Minneapolis, MN 55406). At 6:30 p.m., members of the board and other knowledgable people will be available if you have specific questions you would like answered. We will do our best to address your question and help you troubleshoot the issue.
Over the summer, I bet you have taken lots of pictures, some with your iPhone, some with a DSLR or a point and shoot camera. At 7:00 p.m., we will talk about how we each organize, edit, and keep track of those pictures. Apple’s Photos is available, but there are other options and features out there. We will look at some of those options and what the pros and cons are for them.

At 7:00 p.m., we will talk about our favorite apps. Apps for macOS and iOS. Apps that help us be more productive. Apps that help us relax. Apps that help us keep connected with others and the world around us. Come and share with us your favorite apps. You might see a new app that will become your next favorite.

The next Mini’app’les meeting is Tuesday, June 21st, the third Tuesday of the month, at the Hackfactory (3119 E. 26th Street Minneapolis, MN 55406). At 6:30 p.m., members of the board and other knowledgable people will be available if you have specific questions you would like answered. We will do our best to address your question and help you troubleshoot the issue.

At 7:00 p.m., we will look at Apple’s recent announcements at WWDC 2016 (World Wide Developer Conference). Apple announced updates to their 4 lines of operating systems. iOS 10 has a focus of improving Siri. macOS Sierra brings Siri to Apple’s desktops and laptops with many other improvements. watchOS 3 improves app launch times. tvOS 10 will bring a single sign-on for cable services and a dark mode. Of course that just brushes the top of all that was announced. We will talk about the rest, when you will be able to get it, and on what machines.

The next Mini’app’les meeting is Tuesday, May 17th, the third Tuesday of the month, at the Hackfactory (3119 E. 26th Street Minneapolis, MN 55406). At 6:30 p.m., members of the board and other knowledgable people will be available if you have specific questions you would like answered. We will do our best to address your question and help you troubleshoot the issue.

At 7:00 p.m., we will cover some current news and then we will look at storage options for your Mac and iOS devices. As we take more pictures or expand our music library or save more files, we need to store them somewhere. And eventually, the space we currently have will not be enough. So we will consider the pros and cons of different expansion options, for both primary storage and backups. Factors such as storage space available, physical size and portability, type of connections, and even the type of storage will help determine the best choice for you.

Come and share the storage options you have chosen and see how you might improve your setup. We look forward to seeing you there.
