The Mini’app’les meeting is on September 16th (the third Tuesday of the month) at the Hackfactory, starting at 7:00 p.m. (6:30 p.m. if you would like to come for some Q&A). We will talk about the new iPhone 6, the Apple Watch, iOS 8, and some of the other announcements Apple has made. We will also look at RSS readers for the Mac and iOS devices.
Mini’app’les has transitioned to using a blog instead of a monthly newsletter to keep you updated to what is happening with the club and the latest Mac news. You can find the blog on the main page of the Mini’app’les website, miniapples.org. The advantage of using a blog is so news, deals, and other important information can get to much faster instead of waiting till the end of the month. For example, as I come across deals and discounts on software and hardware, I post them to the blog.
If you have a suggestion for improving the blog, please let us know.
One of the best ways to keep up to date with the blog is to subscribe to it using the RSS feed. You can use a RSS reader such as ReadKit ($7 at the MacApp store, requires 10.8 or later) or Reeder 2 ($10 at the MacApp Store, requires 10.9) for the Mac. And the quite a number of RSS reader apps for iOS. We will look at those apps and others at the Mini’app’les meeting. We will also look at some services that have taken the place of Google Reader, such as Feedbin and Feedly.
I hope to see you at the Mini’app’les meeting on September 16th.
